Crambe Abyssinica Seed Oil (Abyssinian seed oil): Abyssinian seed oil is a nourishing ingredient that penetrates the skin, to hydrate and revitalize. It is an ideal option for oily skin with excess sebum production or acne prone skin, as it does not clog pores or leaves a greasy finish.
Cucumis Sativus Fruit Extract (Cucumber Extract): Cucumber extract keeps your skin hydrated, protected and supple. This natural ingredient helps reduce inflammation in swollen or irritated areas and regulates excess oil on your face, reducing the risk of acne.
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera Gel): The cooling properties of Aloe Vera gel keeps your skin hydrated. In addition, it has emollient properties that soothe your skin when exposed to the sun, allowing you to benefit from the good and protect against the bad parts of sun exposure. Is vegan the same as cruelty free?
No. Vegan means that the product does not have any animal derived ingredients. It describes the ingredients not the production process. There are very few cases of this, but a product that is tested on animals can claim to be vegan. Therefore, it would be vegan but not cruelty-free.
Cruelty free, on the other hand, means that a product has not been tested on animals avoiding all processes to harm or kill animals. It focuses on the testing process not on the ingredients. A cruelty free product can have animal derived ingredients that are also natural such as honey or beeswax that are not necessarily bad for you.
Is Reborn makeup vegan?
We cannot really say that our makeup is vegan because it is made with beeswax. Our beeswax is from organic farming. Bees are not intentionally killed during the process of collection. The wax collection is done at the same time as the honey harvest. Beeswax has incredible benefits for cosmetics formulations. Please go to our ingredients page to learn more about this healing ingredient.
How long do Reborn products usually last?
You can see at the top of our product title or on the packaging the word PAO. This means Period After Opening followed by 12M, 24M or 6M (“M” stands for months). This states how long your product will be safe to use after you have first opened it. This is compulsory by law and was set out by the European Cosmetics Regulation EC 1223/2009.
What's the difference between natural and organic?
Organic products are grown without any type of chemicals. They have been harvested with no artificial pesticides, fertilisers or herbicides. Organic products promote ingredients that have been grown using organic farming methods. In these methods, the use of synthetic fertilisers, genetically modified ingredients or organisms (GMOs) and herbicides are forbidden.
Natural beauty products contain mainly ingredients derived from nature. A beauty product is natural if no GMOs may be used and no endangered plant species may be used. Our makeup does not contain nanomaterial ingredients and does not contain carcinogenic, mutagenic, or toxic for reproduction substances (CMR ingredients).
Can I use Reborn mascara as a serum at night?
No, you cannot use Reborn Natural Mascara as a serum at night. Reborn mascara is designed and formulated to be worn as a makeup product. However, it has got multiple nourishing benefits for your lashes due to its high level of antioxidants and vitamin E. Wearing Reborn Natural Mascara during the day will benefit your lashes as well as keep them beautifully lifted.
Is Reborn makeup tested on animals?
No. None of our ingredients have been tested on animals. Our makeup is completely cruelty free.
What is Reborn packaging made of?
Our Natural mascara packaging is made of 50% bamboo and 50% plastic.
Our highlighter packaging contains 50% less plastic than conventional containers. It is 100% post consumer recycled plastic. This is a recyclable product because both the cardboard outside and the PP plastic inside are recyclable. The PP plastic is food grade BPA free.

Where is Reborn makeup made?
Our makeup is made in Spain. Our partner laboratory is a high quality certified lab that works with the best organic and natural ingredients and primary sources for production.
Our products are dermatologically tested, paraben free, aluminium free, no perfumes, no sulphates, no irritating agents, phthalate free, cruelty free, not been tested on animals, free from genetically modified organisms (GMO), endocrine disruptors, silicones or phthalates.
Are Reborn products for all skin types?
Our products are dermatologically tested with a focus group using volunteers in Spain. We carry out a strict process before putting the products in the market according to the European Cosmetics Legislation. Therefore they are suitable for all skin types.
We are not qualified to give any dermatological advice so we always recommend to check with your doctor or dermatologist before using a new product on an inflamed area.
What makes Reborn products so different to others on the market?
Reborn are wildly different from other products in the market due to a few key things:
Transparency in ingredients and their sourcing – we do our due diligence because we care about what our customers are using on their body. Our ingredients have not only been sustainably sourced but also sourced in a way that tackles wider issues within the cosmetics industry. Example, Mika is known and linked to child labour, we ensure that our provider for Mika is certified and we have validated that no use of children can be found in their mines.
Expert advice: We work with experts in the field in natural medicines and ingredients to get the most out of our renewable resources so that we are not damaging our planet for future generations. Our goal is to invest in the advancement of technology to better our natural resources so that our customers do not sacrifice on quality when using our organic or natural products. We understand the use of chemicals for the enhancement of performance, therefore during product testing we deconstruct the ingredient lists and strip out any unnecessary chemicals and replace them with natural ingredients. We find a balance that allows for very low chemical use and higher volumes of natural ingredients to give our customers high performing products that take care of their body for now and the future.

Can I use Reborn products if I have sensitive skin?
All our products are dermatologically tested with a focus group with volunteers in Spain.
Our mascara is ideal for those who suffer from any type of allergies or have sensitive eyes or skin. Due to its lack of irritating agents and harsh chemicals it won’t cause any allergies to your eyes or skin.
Our organic highlighter is made of 7 ingredients and all of them are free from genetically modified organisms including the aroma which is from natural origin. So there is no risk of allergy at all.
We are not qualified to give any medical advice so we always recommend to check with your doctor or dermatologist before using a new product on an inflamed area.
What are Parabens and why don’t Reborn use them?
Parabens are preservatives used to increase shelf life and prevent the appearance of bacteria and mould in beauty products or foods. The most commonly used parabens are methylparaben (E number E218), ethylparaben (E214), propylparaben (E216), butylparaben and heptylparaben (E209). Other types of less common parabens are isobutylparaben, isopropylparaben, benzylparaben.
A study by Darbe et all has found parabens in breast tumours. Parabens mimick oestrogen, one of the main female sex hormones produced by our hormonal endocrine system, therefore they are believed to be endocrine disruptors. Parabens are absorbed by our skin. However, this research has not been enough to ban the use of parabens in cosmetics. Currently low low levels of parabens are used in cosmetic formulas, ranging from 0.01 to 0.3%. However, their presence in human organism is cumulative.
Doctor P D, Gupta claims in “Parabens: The love – hate molecule” that exposure to these chemicals during pregnancy may up a baby’s risk of increased weight gain in infancy, which has been linked to obesity in adulthood. This article has been published in the Clinical Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. 3. 037-038.
Parabens have also been scientifically proven to cause allergic reactions such as dermatitis, urticaria, swelling and redness in the skin.
Even though we cannot affirm that parabens can cause cancer, we prefer to be safe than sorry and have not preserved any of our products with any type of parabens.
What do Reborn do to preserve their products if we don’t use parabens?
Our organic highlighters do not have any type of preservatives because they have not been formulated with water. They have vitamin E as a powerful antioxidant. It is from natural origin (soy oil).
With regards to our Reborn Mascara, we use benzyl alcohol which is from synthetic origin but it is accepted by organic certifiers such as Ecocert os Cosmos Organic among others.
Does Reborn contain any perfumes or fragrances?
No. We are completely free from chemical perfumes. We use organic aromas instead.
Will Reborn carry an organic certification soon?
We are in the process of gaining certification for our Organic Highlighter – watch this space 🙂

I am really glad I started using this BB cream. The color it gives is beautiful and the aspect my face gets is so fresh and healthy. It is a very nice product to use on a daily basis, when you don’t feel like wearing a heavy color base. It feels light and soft on the skin. I love it!
